Handling seemingly simple real estate matters often seems easy for the uninitiated. Forms are often easy to obtain from the Internet or from bookstores. What's wrong with preparing your own rental agreement or a deed to give your house to your children? Nothing's wrong if everything goes as planned. But thought should be given to the fact that you are dealing with one of the most valuable assets, if not the most valuable asset, that you own.  Lots of things can go wrong, and when they go wrong, it can be very costly.  Law students spend a full year of their first year of law school in Property class and, when they finally graduate and pass the Bar exam and begin practicing law, few actually know much of what they need to know about real estate law.
